  History

The workshop was founded in 1958 by Werner Fischer, born 1921. He was starting his apprenticeship 1935 in the company “F. Arthur Uebel” which is still located in the famous “Musikwinkel” in Vogtland, – an area where most of the German instrument makers have been settled before the war.

In 1952, he escaped to the former Western Germany and began working for 6 years as employed craftsman in Frankfurt and Bremen. In Bremen he founded his own workshop for service and production of flutes, clarinets and saxophones.

In May 1985 Achim Kopitzki Took over the workshop, in which Mr. Fischer continued to work until he died in March 1998.

Because of lack of space, the workshop moved from center of Bremen to the Bremen-Borgfeld in 1989.

Here, hidden in the green in a detached family house unusual for a workshop, the tradition of the woodwind instrument maker of Markneukirchen is still alive.
